Yet again we’ve been a bit tardy in putting another post together but it’s only because we’ve been so busy! Since our last blog Dougherty and Allen have been going from strength to strength in every way possible and setting our sights on new ventures
We’ve recently taken over the management of Boughton Hall Cricket Club, who we provide all catering to and now look after their bar and all events held there. It’s the perfect place just outside the city centre for a birthday celebration, christmas party, family get together or a meeting place for any social group. In the take over we’ve introduced live football to the bar screening all major premier league matches with a £2 special offer on beers and selected drinks until the first goal is scored! It’s also the only place in Chester where you can get a famous Dougherty and Allen carvery, served every Sunday from midday with prices starting at £8 for adults. As well as venues, we’ve also gained people power. Throughout December we’re extremely privileged to be joined by our friend Alberto from Tuscany who’s left his family in Italy to give us an extra helping hand over the festive period. We’ve also recruited the Estonian beauty that is Kristine who will be our new Events Manager. She came to us through our friends at Arc recruitment, who had introduced her to us over the past year with her agency work for us and now we’ve claimed her as one of the D&A family. We’ve also been helping the team at Arc develop and train their staff to help ensure impeccable service to all of our events! We’re very excited and extremely proud to have so many talented professionals working for us and to be in a position where we can help develop the careers of others!
With expansion of our venue portfolio and our payroll we need logistics to expand to get all staff and produce from a to b. So we’ve bought another van, taking our fleet to 3 vehicles allowing us to provide our service far and wide! We’ve also purchased a few bits of quirky equipment such a vintage sweet cart and a beautiful wooden cask for mulled wine which we’re already putting to good use at events and will soon be available to hire through our forthcoming equipment hire service for your own parties
As we’re heading into our busiest time of the year, we’re relocating most of our unit to Tatton Park andAintree (working alongside the fabulous JD Parties) where we take over the catering from the end of November right through to early January. If that wasn’t enough we’ve also got weddings, conference events, house parties and fabulous new years eve celebrations in the pipeline as well as our normal deliveries and hospitality offerings. No rest for the wicked!
Looking into the new year, we’ll soon have a shiny new website to keep you up to date with menus, pictures and more of my waffling. We’ll also be looking at developing the business in new and exciting ways, but all will be revealed soon!
Its a wonderful proud feeling seeing the companies growth and expansion and seeing the potential of where we can go. Will keep you up to date with the goings on of our festivities in December but for now it’s over and out
