Dougherty & Allen is a family business started by Phil Dougherty, Nick Allen and Gordon Wigginton. Gordon is a lifelong friend of Phil and father-in-law of Nick. The common denominator shared by the 3 is a passion for the highest quality produce, converted to the most exciting products, served with a seamless pride to catch the attention to detail and strive for faultless service. From canapé receptions, weddings, company launches, corporate catering, charity gala dinners, sporting events, conferences and private dinner parties, either in the office, a venue of your choice or the comfort of your own home, we strive to provide exceptional service whatever your plans. Phillip Dougherty is a well-known and respected local who has a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry. Having trained and progressed to senior management level at the famous Gleneagles Hotel, Phillip then joined the Chester Grosvenor Hotel and spent 18 years there again in senior management and was instrumental in the hotel gaining it’s 5 star status.
Phillip then had a change of direction and was head hunted by Paul Heathcote to open the Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington and also was made head of catering for the hugely successful Chester Racecourse operations for 9 years. Phillip has a hidden passion for wine and in 1996 was sommelier of the year.
Nick started his career working in professional kitchens at the age of 15 and soon realised he wanted to make a career creating great food. Nick has a huge passion for food and at a young age is already an author of his own book, The Essential Camping Cookbook. Starting in London at The Dorchester Hotel at 17, he worked his way up and played an important part in the kitchen there, especially in private fine Dining and the exclusive Krug Room experience. He was then asked to be part of the team to open the new 5* Coworth Park in Ascot, Berkshire and again played an important part in developing the hotels food offering.In 2013 Nick moved up to Cheshire to be with his fiancee whom he met at Coworth Park and was introduced to Phil, which is how Dougherty & Allen was created!

Ribble Farm Fare, based in Longridge, Lancashire, is a family run business specialising in fruit and vegetables. Roger and Richard Coulston successfully run the business, along with their fully committed management team and 150 strong workforce.

I just wanted to thank you and your team for such a fantastic job at our event last Wednesday.
The food and refreshments were perfect and we’ve received lots of feedback saying how much everyone enjoyed it.
The team were also great on the day, excellent service and everything ran like clockwork.
In the lead up to the event nothing was too much trouble. You guys do this every day but I don’t arrange many events and you always made me feel like everything was very important which put my mind at rest and on the day made everything seamless.

Yet again we’ve been a bit tardy in putting another post together but it’s only because we’ve been so busy! Since our last blog Dougherty and Allen have been going from strength to strength in every way possible and setting our sights on new ventures We’ve recently taken over the management of Boughton Hall Cricket Club, who we provide all catering to and now look after their bar and all events held there. It’s the perfect place just outside the city centre for a birthday celebration, christmas party, family get together or a meeting place for any social group. On Saturday 27th September we were delighted to be a part of Helen and Jonathan’s beautiful wedding day. Set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, just a stones throw from theice cream shop; overlooking Tattenhall Marina, and Beeston Castle in the distance it was a perfect backdrop to a perfect day!
